Community Supported Fisheries for Akiwenzie’s Fish & More…
Well, the first CSF (community supported fisheries) that we
did in the Spring worked!!! We will
tweak it just a bit and hopefully it will work and work even better this time
around.
How the CSF
helps us: It helps to maintain our
old nets and keep up on purchasing new nets when our old ones are damaged by
algae or just the day to day handling, which happens a lot. Also, the CSF helps with supplies, fuel and
other business expenses.
What it
does for you: We will give you an
extra $5.00 to spend at our table.
We also appreciate your help in keeping us in business and
allowing us to continue doing what we love to do.
This time around we are going to give you cards that we will
stamp or initial when you spend so much at our table. The boxes will be marked off in a dollar
segments like this:

I will be doing every share into $100 segments. There is no limit to how many shares you buy
but it will only be valid from October 3, 2013 to December 21, 2013 which is 12
weeks. Again, the finishing deadline
will be flexible but with the winter moving in during this time we may not make
it to every market. With this season we
are dealing with more weather related challenges. The November winds and snow/ice makes this
season always more interesting. We will
try to keep you up to date on our Face Book page or twitter or our blog. You can also always e-mail us to put
something aside for you or to find out what we have caught.
What the
CSF can be used towards: fresh or
frozen fish, smoked fish, smoked fish pate, caviar, 10lbs of fish for your
freezer and also whole fish. We ask for
a couple of days of notice with the whole fish so we know to keep one aside and
not process it completely. We also need
to know about the 10lbs. boxes of fish a little ahead of time to remember to
bring it with us.
